The Creative Award – Special Build category is for campaigns that expand or extend existing ad units or utilise one-off formats, custom locations or external experiential elements. This can include both Classic and Digital formats as well as bespoke murals. This is the category where imaginations can truly run wild, and campaigns can explore the outer limits of what is possible with OOH.
At its most basic, anything that can not be bought and deployed as part of a standard media buy is classed as a Special Build. It is literally, a special case. It should still be based on, and recognised as, an OOH billboard. It is not a purely experiential area or event space, nor is it statue, oversized product model or CGI-enhanced video (FOOH). It is key that the billboard plays the majority role in the campaign rather than being a supporting element.
Nominations can only be made by WOO members, but we actively encourage you to nominate ANY campaign you think is worthy of an award, from any country, from any client or agency.
